The calories burned during cardio activities like running, swimming, or team sports don't always match the amount of calories you actually burned.
This happens because your body has compensation mechanisms that balance out the extra energy you burned. Your body lowers its energy use for the rest of the day by making you move around less without thinking, or by slowing down certain physical processes.
So you might have burned fewer calories than you thought.
MCI takes those mechanisms into account by only adding 50% of the calories tracked in the cardio module during a weight loss or recomp phase.
If your goal is to build muscle, 75% of your tracked cardio calories get added to your daily goal, since compensation mechanisms aren't as strong when you're in a calorie surplus.
